Hello everyone! Here is Laura Mimini, an Italian industrial designer. I work as a freelancer and I have been studying and working as a designer for more than ten years. I have always had a passion for arts and design, and I’ve been fascinated by the technical and functional parts of things since when I was young. For that reason, I decided to attend an artistic high school with a scientific base of subjects. I carried on my studies choosing an academy of design that gave me the opportunity to take a master degree in industrial design. I have always kept my creativity fed with specialized post-graduation courses, workshops and internships related to my field of studies. After my graduation, I collaborated with many agencies or companies located in Italy and some abroad, like in the USA. I’m used to work more as an industrial designer in heterogeneous fields of the product, most of them are related to the automotive and car design production, but I also worked in other fields as health and care, electronics, instrumental, furniture and stationery. Regarding the last one, I used to communicate with the China market for the supplier and production part. During my studies and work experiences, I became also specialized in the part of the research related to the market of the product and I had the chance to work as a brand researcher for some important brands. Therefore, I can finalize the methodology that I generally use for my projects and this is what I’m going to teach you. My clients often contact me precisely to be supported in this kind of researches. Another field that I explored to complete my work experiences is the graphics for the product, I’ve been making graphics for fashion textile complements since 2010, and this work helped me opening my mind and develop a good eye for fashion, styling and trend market. Some of the most important brands I collaborated with are: Brembo, KTM, Landini McKormick, Harley Davidson, Aston Martin and I kept workshops about sketching in collaboration with Sony and I also kept some laboratory courses lectures in the same field. At the moment I am working for an automotive company that is associated with world-wide famous Italian brands like Ferrari and Lamborghini. There, I have the position of lead designer of the product department.
